Borealis
Borealis and Home Assistant
There are two ways to use Borealis in Home Assistant, and you can use both.
Matter (works today)
Home Assistant’s built-in Matter integration adds Borealis like any other Matter light: on/off, brightness, colour and white temperature. Follow the setup guide and add it from Settings → Devices & services → Add integration → Matter. You’ll need Home Assistant’s Matter server, which the Matter integration sets up for you.
The Borealis integration (coming soon)
A dedicated integration, installable with HACS, talks to Borealis over its local API and adds what Matter can’t:
- your Borealis scenes as light effects, including the music-reactive ones;
- the scene’s main colour shown on the light while a scene plays;
- renames in Home Assistant sent to the controller, so the app and Matter show the same name.
It finds controllers on your network automatically and follows them when their IP address changes. Installation steps will be here when it’s published.
