About Boreal Micro

Boreal Micro is me, Dominic Peters: an electronics engineer who designs boards, writes the firmware that runs on them, and builds the apps that go with them.

I start projects when good hardware is let down by its electronics or its software: a product that only works through a cloud service, a feature the manufacturer never added, or a device that was still fine but stopped being supported. Boreal Micro is where those projects become products other people can use.

Borealis is the first: an aftermarket controller that brings Nanoleaf Aurora panels into Matter, with scenes and music effects that run entirely on your own network. A version for Nanoleaf Shapes is next, and more projects are on the bench.

Every product is designed, built and tested in small batches, and support comes straight from me.
